Foreign languages are very desirable among employers, and not just them. Today we’ll show you the story of our user who started learning with the Ling Intelligence language platform. Below we’ll post the story we received, where you can read how his learning went and if it ended with success.

The story of a Ling Intelligence user

Hello everyone.
I’d like to share my story with you. As I have already mentioned in the title, I’ll tell you how I learned English with the Ling Intelligence platform. I’m currently 25, I’m a graduate with a degree and for the past 2 years I’ve been actually trying to do something with my life. I’m looking for some job that I know I would like to have for a while, more than say, 3 months. It’s not like I always get fired, it’s just that every time I can feel it’s not my thing, I get bored with the job and just leave on my own accord.

But let’s get back to the topic I wanted to share. It was during those 2 years of switching jobs and looking for something interesting, something I’d be really into and would actually like to do, when I noticed that quite a lot of interesting job offers require English language, unfortunately I had to give up on such offers right away, as my English wasn’t good, although apparently it should be. That’s what got me thinking and motivated me to do something – which was purchasing access to the Ling Intelligence platform.

My beginnings with the language

I actually started learning English back in the middle school, as I recall I struggled understanding it right from the start, at least that’s what I thought. Then came the high school, and then a year of English classes at the university. One could say that was a lot of time and that my English should have been pretty good by now, but the truth is I only knew some measely basics and even that wasn’t good. I always thought that it just wasn’t my thing and that I was English immune, now my thinking is completely different.

I think that the methods they use to teach at schools are simply obsolete and inefficient. I have something to compare it to so I know what I’m talking about. The key to success is regularity, because what’s the use of learning it at school for all those years if by measuring the actual time spent on it, it was two classes a week 45 minutes each, minus the time spent on entering, leaving, roll calls and other crap, which in the end gives you 30 minutes of learning. At the university English was just for the sake of it, nobody actually learned anything.

The Ling Intelligence platform – My beginnings

I registered at the Ling Intelligence platform, I purchased a course and I got to work right away, despite having motivation I just kept thinking that if all those years of learning had amounted to nothing then now I wouldn’t learn anything either. The first impression was really nice, knowledge is shared in a very user-friendly and understandable way, I spent 2 h, went to sleep and then realized how many new words my brain had absorbed.

Learn Language

Over the following days I spent a least an hour a day on learning, when I had more time I could spend as much as 3 h at the time on it, that’s how much I got into learning, but that’s because I could see the results every day. Within the first 5 days I refreshed the knowledge I had gained over all those years of learning at school, I’m shocked! Then I just kept learning new things all the time. It’s this platform that made me realize how poor the methods of teaching at schools are. The words would just jump into my head automatically, without „cramming away” like I used to back in school just to later forget it anyway.

The following weeks of using the platform

After just a little over a week I remembered all I had learned so far, as well as had absorbed a lot of new knowledge and what’s most important, I knew how to use it. But the most difficult thing to me was always how hard it was for me to compose sentences, while I did know some words and could sort of understand a meaning of a written text, putting together a valid sentence on my own was a nightmare. Thanks to the platform I learned the rules of doing it in a clear and understandable way, plus I finally learned the grammar, tenses, which had always been like ‘dark magic’ to me. The following week I was absorbing new knowledge like a sponge, new words that I hadn’t even known before were easy to memorize fast.

Practicing the language after finishing the course

After over 2 weeks came the time for a test, it was actually out of nowhere in a way, because I bought myself one of those universal remotes that let you control few separate devices, like TV, radio, entertainment system etc. and it didn’t come with a manual in a language I know, and I had no idea how to program it. I knew that I had already learned something, but I didn’t realize it was this much. I could understand about 90 % of what it said, then I could make out the remaining 10 % from the context and I had no problem programming the remote. I was so proud of myself! Not because I had programmed the remote of course, but because my English was already something and it helped me in daily life.

A job interview

After that I decided that it was the time for the next step and after about another week of learning I made a decision to send my CV to a company whose ad I had already seen few times. It seemed pretty interesting to me but they required good English. They called me back the next day and invited me for an interview in 4 days. I was so happy and just kept perfecting my English with the Ling Intelligence platform, because I knew that it would a be a good test for me, not to mention a chance to get a dream job.

At first the interview went on pretty nicely, after 3 minutes a question came about the level of my English. I answered that it was hard to tell and that was when he asked me a question in English. He said that from that moment the interview would continue in English. My pulse got higher, but I collected my thoughts and answered the first question hesitantly. With every following question I got more relaxed, feeling that the conversation was getting smoother all the time and the employer could understand everything I said. After leaving I was proud like never before. Less than a month before that I wouldn’t have even dared to send a CV in the first place, and even if I had I probably just would have gotten stuck at the first question during the interview, maybe even would not have understood anything and just run away in shame. Next day they messaged me that I got the job!

Summary – My opinion on Ling Intelligence

As you can see, learning English isn’t so hard. Even if we believe that we have no talent for that maybe we just always learned it or were taught it the wrong way. I used the Ling Inteligence platform and I really recommend it to everyone in a similar situation. Even if they’ve never learned English before, because there’s even a package that teaches the very basics. I’ve never learned anything this effectively before, and I’m not talking just about English. Ling Intelligence only has the most important information, without pointlessly cluttering your head with unnecessary stuff. Not to mention everything is presented in a very easy, understandable way. A textbook won’t teach you things like pronounciation or accent, while here it only takes one click to listen to everything spoken by a lector.
I hope that my story caught your attention and even if I only motivate one person to start learning a language it will be another success on my part.
